Beans Developer Update </November>

What’s up!

Hi everyone🌱! It’s the beginning of the month again, which means we are back with a new developer diary. We will have some small updates on the beans app, as well as some super good news about the soft launch and Meridian. Writing this certainly gets me excited, so let’s get into this!Beans - Free payments, healthy yield.

Beans news!

It's been an exciting few months since we published our last update. We have implemented our code invite system that enabled us to finally soft-launch the app, which you are now able to download in the iOS and Android stores! The soft launch of Beans enabled us to run an amazing 2-week long giveaway and contests, giving away almost 1000$ in cash. We are so excited to see all this enthusiasm from the Beans App fans, and we couldn’t be more excited to see everyone trying out the app and giving feedback. We couldn’t do this without our early supporters, and we’re super grateful to have you guys on board!

Meridian

Our team has visited the yearly Stellar Development Foundation conference ‘Meridian’ to speak with some of the eminent Stellar contributors and enthusiasts. We’ve met amazing people as well as some of the Beans fans, and the whole vibe of the conference was just amazing. Some amazing new Stellar features were released, like the soroban testnet and the $100 million adoption fund. Stellar is doing some amazing work, and we are happy to have been part of Meridian 2022.

New and coming app features!

Multilingual support 🏳️‍🌈

We have added more languages to the Beans app. You are now able to choose between the English, Dutch and Spanish languages! We will be adding more languages in the future to support as many people as possible, so if you have suggestions please tell us!

QR requests 📲

The money request page in the Beans app now lets you generate specific QR codes to share with your friends! Instead of sharing a link with your friend, you can now generate a QR code that anyone can scan. Scanning it will open up the Beans app and lets you pay the request!

Profile pictures 🖼️

We have now added the ability to add a profile picture to your account. This picture will show as an avatar when you send transactions, and it gives the app a more personalized look and feels. We definitely dig this feature!

Redesign of change currency and transfer screens 💱

We’ve done a small redesign of the currency-changing flow, which now shows a little bit more information on what is going to happen with your current balance, as well as to show a more informative and improved swapping screen once the change has been completed. This should help out the regular Joe using the app!

Improved withdrawal flow ⛓️

You were already able to deposit money using several SEP-24 integrations, but you are now also able to use SEP-24 to withdraw your money to your personal bank account. We also improved the withdrawal process, creating the right transaction for you when you have to send your balance to the appropriate anchor.

Euro anchor ⚓

We have onboarded MYKOBO as our European EURO stablecoin anchor. Europeans are now able to deposit and withdraw EURC tokens in their Beans wallet using the SEP-24 integration from MYKOBO. This is a huge step towards the mass adoption of blockchain technology and Beans, and we are excited to offer our services to the citizens in Europe. Our mission to connect everyone to Beans just became a little bit more real!

So, what's next?

We are still working hard to implement our social recovery (SEP-30) integration. Our top priority is to give people all the benefits of using the blockchain, without all the difficulties. SEP-30 is a massive step towards this goal, and we are expecting this feature to come online in the very short term. We are working together with other big players in the Stellar ecosystem to create a decentralized and safe recovery system to enable this as soon as possible!

We also have some smaller side projects running, like a Spanish beans account, more giveaways (👀), improved support flows, and rewards for our early adopters. Keep our socials in check to stay up-to-date with the latest news and updates!
